Unfortuantely, in cutting, sometimes we can lose muscle as well. Some people are ok with that depending on how much fat they have to lose.
Total, over that time, you only lost about a pound of lbm, but almost 4lbs of fat! I would take that 1lb of lbm loss as a . It's possible it's just based on levels of hydration or time of the month. It looks like you're going slow and steady, which is a great way to achieve permanent results. How do you feel about your progress? |

I had dreams of the fat melting off my body and being a godess in 4 weeks.
Actually, I'm very happy with how things are going. I'm starting to see my upper body developing. And I have motivation to keep it going now that I see a downward trend in bf%. And I like to see the LBW rising. That's very exciting.

That's right and I never want it to come back. I'm aiming for the future, it might take awhile but it will come.
(wow, i'm surprised at my patience today. it's a good day.) I'm also, trying to get up the courage to have pictures done as I go along. I'd like to have comparisons.

Thanks Florida, let us know when you get to goal.
I don't think I'll be reaching my goal anytime soon. As my progress is going slow, I think it's probably going to be another 4 - 5 months. I'm going to stay on here, and keep slugging away at it. I get alot of motivation from everyone, even if I only post occassionally. Though a smaller goal will be when I get under 22% bf. I have never been under that. I'll aim for that by end of summer, August 30th. (it's in writting now, no giving up.) What is your goal?

I know what the numbers seem to indicate, but how do you LOOK? Have you taken circumference measurements of key muscles before and now?
Don't get caught up in the numbers game. Use the mirror and some other measurements. Keep in mind that "lean bodyweight" is not just muscle! It is everything that isn't fat! So that means your LBW is muscle as well as water, organs, bones, etc. And many times on a cut, water loss is the cause of LBW calcs going down. BTW, it's estimated that actual muscle is only 35-40% of your LBW. |

I'm not sure if what you are saying is positive or negative. I look the same as before, I think I look fat. But I'v been told that what I see is not what others see, that's why I'm having someone help me change my thoughts and views on my body. I think it's a much better thing for me to concentrate on my bf% then my weight on the scale. I'm also concentrating on becoming healthier, eating better for my body and mind.
I take my measurements about every 2 - 3 months. As I wasn't losing weight before taking measurements was very depressing, as was weighing myself. I also know that LBW isn't all muscle, but I didn't think about the water loss thing too much, so if my lbm goes up it could just be water gain? That's depressing too. Not sure if I should be happy or sad today. (I had a very bad morning, had a 10k race and totally blew it. I'm so upset with myself right now, I just want to dive into a tonne of DQ ice cream right now.)
