Default Ouch! Leg day... the sequel

Yesterday I did a proper leg workout for the first time in about eight months (due to not being overseas and not having access to a gym with weights). I didn't want to go really heavy because I'm just getting back into it, so I did sets of 20-30 reps with a challenging weight. It totally kicked my butt, and gave my heart a good workout too. Today, I am re-discovering the forgotten sensations of quads and glutes DOMS. Careful navigation is required to sit down in the bathroom, and walking down stairs (especially wearing heels) is a real mission!

Oh, that is what I call a good case of the DOMS. Yeah, getting in and out of the restroom can sometimes be a chore if you have what I like to call the grapefruit effect. That's when you have DOMS the size of grapefruits in your glutes. It can be a total chore when sitting anywhere. I know that feeling all to well after blasting the legs a good one. That's totally awesome. I bet those stick around for a nice week or so. That's what happened to me to my first leg workout back into action.

Yeah, the past two weeks, I've gotten self-induced muscular dystrophy -- my legs work most of the time and none of it too comfortably.

I am careful not to wear heels on leg day. It's hard enough walking in high heels in general I couldn't handle them with jello legs.
