Who cares what size I am or what my BF is if I am eating like crap, not working out, smoking and DIE or get sick?? Amy [/ QUOTE ] Hi Amy I'm hoping this was a bit of sarcasm! I saw your name as the last poster and scooted in to see how you were doing. Libby2 was quicker than me though! I'm not a goal person but I found that actually having a log and writing my goals down and the tiny baby steps I was going to take helped me reach them. It's nice to have lofty goals like "lose 20 pounds" but it doesn't make it any easier to do it. What have you been eating? How bad is MIL's diabetes? (I know a lot of folks here are anti-low carb but I know a few folks who got their diabetes under control going low-carb. Even insulin dependent people.) I hope you can post again, like Libby2 said, we do care! |

Oh I am not giving up - I am even more fired up than ever to get healthy. My goals haven't changed, just the reason is what I was trying to convey. I want to be healthy now, not a certain size or look or BF%. Before my goals became mostly looks based. I am maintaining a size 8 despite my not working out and eating like crap. What I was trying to say is even if I stayed like this forever (I can deal with an 8, I don't feel fat), I can't do this to my body anymore.
Things are just put on hold for a few more weeks. We are moving in 6 weeks and I have 2 FULL houses to pack and sort into one house. YIKES! This is NUTS!! Amy

They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. [26] So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. [27] I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. |

My main goal is to love my body from every possible angle, in all light and when I'm in all moods!! ..... Is that too big a dream?!!
Uuh I know I know, that's more an utopia than anything else. Right I would like to - do a couple of competitions again - finish my Lara Croft show (haven't been working on it for ages) - start some power lifting again (digging up my old dream of pushing 70kgs / 150lbs in bench press) - do more stretching (like always) - stop snacking (idem) And simply be more disciplined and serious with every darn little thing I do!

My goal is to do a successful 12 week cut starting next week, now that I am on the correct medications. My last attempt to cut coincided with a thyroid crash and I actually gained body fat during it.
So after 6 months of an unplanned bulk because of the thyroid, I am ready to cut. The good news is I increased every one of my lifts, some by double, so there should be some muscle underneath the lard. |

I could never pack up all this junk! Happy to hear you are fired up! I agree about the goal thing. Health comes first! |

Hey great post!
Here are some of my fitness-related goals: -currently: to bulk up through january and some of feb. and then start summmer cutting! -To be 120-125lbs and about 13% bodyfat by this time next year! -To increase my bench by about 40lbs by next year -to compete in figure after i graduate from college in 2 years... the way i build muscle, i think it will take at least this long! Non-fitness related: -to be happy, not be so uptight, and start a band! |

Thanks, Jenn. I am not optimal yet, but I increased my meds and think that once they kick in (in 6 weeks) I will be ok. My temperature is good though, so that is enough to lose weight. I am just sleeping too much.
Amy, I like your goal. Health is the most important thing, looks are a consequence. |
