Default Should I even bother?

If I am not eating enough and not eating good and stressed out - should I even work out or will I make it worse? I feel the mental need SO bad right now but my diet SUCKS and my stress level is so high I am scared I am burning muscle now. Would I make it worse if I went in and did a light workout?

Don't completely stop working out! You will regret that, and it will be very hard to get back to the lifting abilities you have thus far earned. Try to get your meals in, and look at working out as a way to relieve your stress. take your stress out on the weights! Don't give up completely! you've been working hard!

One good idea may be to just relax and take a week off to free up some time and to relieve some stress. Plus, it will probably really get you pumped to get back in the gym after the break.

Good luck hun!

Guess I should have explained more. I haven't set foot in the gym in over 2 weeks now. Life is at a peak stress point and it won't get better for a while. I am doing what I can with the food but my plate is SO FULL right now, I just cannot squeeze any extra time. Yes, cooking and eating are even included in that. It will go away - just not soon.

Working out will definitly help you mentally, and releive some stress. Don't let stress get to you, it may sound hard, but its very easy.

I agree. Work out when you can. It will be great stress relief, and it will also give you time for yourself, which I'm sure you need.
Take care.

stress raises cortisol levels. if you feel better during\after working out then i would continue to do so. if you dont feel any better and still feel stressed then i would wait.

Hey Mama!

Don't worry about working out at the same capacity you once were. I would try getting in mini workouts here and there, or whenever you have the time for it. This will probably make you feel better than doing nothing at all. Maybe you could get some bare essentials to work out with at home.

As far as finding healthy meals, if you have the time, I would recommend making a bunch of healthy meals in one day and freezing them for your own microwavables.

You've probably thought of all this already, but I hope things start picking up.

i say yes, bother.

you probably need a good stress reliever and working out may provide that for you. or maybe go for a run even though its a bit chilly! you need some you time, even if its once a week at the moment.

take care Amy

I think not working out would just add to your stress level. Try to do something it might be what you need to kick start you back on track.

and feeling better will make up for having to put off things just to go to the gym. I actually can't concentrate much at all on days i don't work out.
