I was doing lats yesterday and my triceps are sore too. Not the behind the arm but that part of my underarm near the armpits. If you visualize the inner and outer thigh, I would use the same terms of reference and call it the inner arm, but nearer the back of the arm. I was just wondering: is that part of the triceps brachii or does it split into a smaller muscle group? I don't think so but I'm not so sure....... It's especially sore when I straighten my arm downwards for a stretch and when I reach backwards over my right shoulders to scratch my back, the respective arm is sore.

Pull over movements can fatigue the triceps very easily.
Especially, with stiff arm cable pressdowns. Try focusing on your lats more. But you can see the beauty of Old School extensions for triceps! They are a spin off of pullovers, and you are feeling the results!

The first time I did stiff arm pressdowns, I thought my triceps were going to burst. I was not focusing on my lats, which was a mistake. I had to "re-read" how to do them correctly because I knew my tri's shouldn't have hurt so bad (good pain). Now, that's one of my favorite exercises to do (for my lats)! Not to sound vain, but I love looking in the mirror and focusing on my lats and seeing them in action! Love the burn, baby!

OH MY GOODNESS, OS! I just saw on the exercise page that tricep extension u mentioned. I bet they hit the triceps where I am hurting now like u said even tho I was doing the straightarm cable lat pulldown. Looks like it requires a certain amount of flexibility too! I am imagining that this is the exercise that will really make the triceps look full and less flabby on the underside? (assumed with supporting diet)

Try them on the decline bench as well!
You can also use two dumbbells and do them alternating style!

I used the whatchamacallit, that rectangular rounded edge with 2 vertical perpendicular bars in rectangle bar to do the pull over on the decline bench. U know the one that can be used to work the biceps? Two short bars stick out at the side of that rectangle to hold the weights. I know someone mentioned it before but I just can't remember the name. It really worked the lats! Together with the cable decline bench pullovers! Works wonders. I have yet to try the dumbells.

Hammer bar. I used decline hammer bar pullovers for the first time as a finisher in my lat workout last week--very cool exercise!
