I originally answered in the other thread but then I realized that not all people that wrote in would see my response. I just want to thank you all for the encouragement and the complements. It is a real motivator!! Also, I think that YOU are all awesome and I am thankful to this web site for teaching me so much.
I have been absent for a few days and will have to stay away from this very addicting site for about another week because of job pressure and working overtime. But, I am not missing any workouts and sticking to my diet. I will return very soon!! Thank-you all so much. I am soooooooooo embarrassed. |

Well, I am not so sure how to respond to the questions of how I did it. First, I think that the older pics just didn't do me justice or the newer one looks better than it should, so maybe the "improvement" wasn't as drastic as it looks. I will admit that people that see me in person do comment on my abs and my biceps.
The only thing that I can maybe guess as to how my biceps got so big is that I go very heavy with the weight, once I get the form down. I do a warm-up set, then 3 sets at my normal weight, then I always do a 4th set at the next highest weight, even if only one or two reps come out. Eventually, the higher weight becomes easy and then I use the higher weight as my "normal" weight, etc. I work biceps with a low cable because that is all available. I do 50 pounds as my normal weight and I would eek out a small set with 60 pounds. Of course, this is a cable so who knows how it translates to BB or DB. I vaguely remember being a guest at a gym and doing curls with 30 pound DBs in each hand, but I can't remember exactly. But I also think that it is the back excersizes that are getting to my biceps. I do cable rows, and lat pulldowns using 80 - 100 pounds. I also have a very rusty BB totalling 100 pounds and I use it to do bent over rows. Since it is so rusty, I refuse to touch it to change the weight and make the BB more useful. Thank-you all again for the complements. It really, really helps keep me motivated. If I think of any other pointers, I will post it. |

Hi Debbie,
I just looked at your pics. Great job on those biceps. You are right about the heavy weight, that is exactly what it takes to get the job done. I'm having trouble getting my db weight upped. My hands give out before the muscle. Keep up the good work! KC

You know, a thought just occurred to me. I have very big hands for a girl. I mean, really big. My ring finger is a size 7 or so. I wonder if that gives me a bit of an advantage because I can't say that my hands give out or my grip gives out. Ah, who knows? I am so shocked at all this attention and I would love to be able to share any knowledge to "give back" to all those that helped me!!

You know that could really be true. I know when I do SLDL's, my grip gives way before my legs do. Very frustrating!
