TUF, Well we will be two...I'll do my application sometime today Let's give the guys a bit of a hard time!! My bulk will not be impressive--I just go on short clean-bulks to re-rev my metabolism between cutting. (Have already gained quite a bit of mass since my last contest in May03) Nath.

Hi Nath
Wow - Your stats and goals are really impressive - so dying to ask some questions ! Although you clearly workout hard - have you always found that genetically your body gains mass quite easily? How did you go about gaining mass since last May? Also - do you have a PT? (Who helps to guide you with your training/diet etc)? Sorry for the interrogation - but couldn't help myself ! Wow - Your stats and goals are really impressive - so dying to ask some questions ! THANK'S, no problem, ask all the questions you want LOL!
Although you clearly workout hard - have you always found that genetically your body gains mass quite easily? You are right I do work my butt off but I can not say that my body gains muscles easily, I've started to gains noticeable mass only last year, when I've decide to increase my calories gradually...force myself to EAT more foods and accept to get fat a bit!...you cannot gain mass if you don't eat big : FOODS IS EVERYTHING!...for my size I eat from 2500 to 3300 cal in of season. How did you go about gaining mass since last May? this one is hard to say, cause I didn't have a caliper at the time, but to give you an idea I was at 114# at my last contest in May didn't know my bodyfat but it was very low (periods had stopped and I could see veins on my lower abs!)....right now I am at 142-143# at 13-14% Also - do you have a PT? (Who helps to guide you with your training/diet etc)? Yes I do have PT's, but they are more nutritionists helping me on the diet side(training I do by myself)...they are top coaches here in Canada, training around 150 BB'er per season, most of which are at National & provincial level Sorry for the interrogation - but couldn't help myself ! Ask anytime Nath.

Weight: 142 lbs
Today is back day...and the dreaded pull-up...but I'm starting to like thems!! Manage to do 55 of thems total....in set of appx "5", which make me pretty proud . Pull-up: as many as I can book in my workout (55 for today.) Shrug: 4x10-6 (heavy) BB row: 4x10-6 Pull down: 4x12-8 One Arm DB row: 4x8 Pullover: 3x12-15 Hyper extension: 3x15 Foods similar to yesterday...except that I've reajusted my post work out meal adding simple carbs...and cutting some complex in my last to keep similar calories range of avg. 2500cal=1250P+F/1250C. Adding simple carbs (dextrose-malto.) in my PWO meal will be THE biggest change in my bulking diet. Slap me for this one...but I've never took "sugar" post work out...and still manage to have some very good gains!... Just the word "sugar" scare's the hell out of me LOL. This will be a big change for me, and a big mind game... I promise to give it a good try, at least for the next 8wks...but I want to see results...KWIM? Nath.

Hey - thanks for your comments Nath.
FYI - I am currently preparing for my first comp - so its great learning from your experience. Once I have successfully got this competition under my belt (takes place in Nov) I am really keen to focus on growing my muscles more during the off season - hence my questions. BTW - I don't add sugar in my PWO shake either for similar reasons to you. I seem to be cutting fat and building muscle okay, so won't be changing things. I just whip up a couple of spoonfuls of chocolate protein powder in water with icecubes, a bit of extra artificial sweetner, and a spoonful of glutamine. I also take creatine pre and post workout. |
