Hi everyone
I am not really new to this site but I don't post much. I kind of just look and learn. Anyway, I have decided to do the Hyperplasia Challenge. Since I have no problem with motivation to work out, I think my biggest problem will be diet. I do have a plan but I have a question first. Right now, I lift pretty heavy and, sometimes, my reps end up low - like 4-5 - especially on my bench press (I have been trying to build up to 100 lbs which I did yesterday - only 3 reps though). Anyway, if I want to lose bodyfat should I be going lighter with weight and higher with reps? I feel that if I do that, I will lose strength. What do you all think? Michele |

have you thought about doing the 13 week fat burning program at all?
i see no reason to use lighter weights, higher reps while cutting. |

There is absolutely no reason to go lighter in the gym during a cut. Some people whine that your muscles can't recover as well during cutting so you should give them more slack, but with the proper diet, post-workout consumption, supplementation, and adequate amounts of healthful rest, that is not a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping you would say that. I really didn't want to go lighter.
I have looked at the 13 week program and I do incorporate some of it into my workouts. I have been lifting for a while and have been liking my results. I know if I could just get my diet right, I could look and feel so much better. I think I will try to follow the 12 week fat burning diet. September 1st is not too far away so right now I am just trying to psych myself up for the whole thing! |
