Default How traps affect other body parts

Hello abc-ers. My home computer's gone kaput and I haven't been able to log in so here I am, at the forbidden "work" computer.

In any case, I've got a question. How important are traps for building the upper back? I've been wondering if I should step up my traps workout in order to develop an awesome upper back.

Very important! Here is some good trap info click here

You'll see an immediate difference in your upper back by working the superior aspect of the trapezius. Middle traps will add back thickness, and lower traps will add thickness a bit lower.
[*] upper traps = Elivation of the scapula, i.e. shrugs
[*] middle trapezius = scapular retraction, i.e. squeezing the shoulder blades together, such as in bent over rows, or horrizontal cable shrugs
[*] lower traps - depression of the scapula - i.e. grasp a pulldown bar and simply shrug downwards, opposite of normal shrugs

Also for your upper back, I'd work the rear delts hard

Great info here, Prez. It is no wonder after I did my T-bar rows yesterday that today my back delts feel so sore!

As I'm reading this, I'm trying out the lower traps advice on shrugging downwards and I can feel it working already! Definitely gonna try them all. I didn't realize not working my traps's gonna penalize my back so much.

Thanks Prez!

Remembering some previous posts though, alot of girls here find their traps seem to grow like weeds once you give them a bit of work (I know mine are!) and you have to decide if you find the "no-neck" look attractive... (or at least know when to stop!)

I do upright rows at the moment which works my shoulders and traps together (as I can't do lat raises cos it goes crunch) but my traps are definitely making their presence felt!

They are also great supersetted with normal pulldowns after failure. Once you can no longer get any pulldowns, perform reverse shrugs. Its hardcore

Reverse shrugs! Just what I need! I don't directly work my upper traps cuz they grow like weeds...don't even whisper shrugs near me cux they'll grow!

I just started working my traps. Only doing DB shrugs for now. I can feel them growing already and I would like a little more definition in them. I've actually found that I like to work them. I was scared to before because I've seen the traps on males and have seen how big they get thiers, although, I know muscle doesn't grow over night. I just like my neck, so I don't want huge traps.

Yeah, I agree, I was afraid of the no neck look. Then I realized gd traps may make my shoulders look better and help my back. So, I'm giving it a go and see how it goes.
