Default Little Things

The past few mornings, I noticed that my hip was asleep when I woke up. I sleep on my side, and this is the first time I can recall this is happening. Personally, I think it's because there is less padding there to cushion things.

As I sit and type this, my elbow resting on the desk is aching from the bone rubbing on the desktop. This has never happened to me before.

My shoes are all too big. I'm having to wear thicker socks to keep them on my feet. I haven't had a smaller size shoe in years.

I could not wear a belt with my dress pants today because they are all so big that the end of the belt flops around at my side from being so long that it falls between the loop at my side and the loop at the front of the pants.

I had to have two links taken out of my watch recently because it was so big it was twirling around my wrist.

I almost lost my rings while doing dishes because they are large enough to spin around my fingers. They used to be so tight that one snaped right in two once and had to be repaired.

My necklaces hang lower down my chest than they used to.

For the first time in years I can cross my legs without having to turn sideways and sit half on my hip. I can also cross them under my desk and while sitting in the pew at church without killing my knees and ankles.

It really is the little things that others probably don't notice that make this all worth it to me.

Congratulations! What a wonderful, inspiring post.

On the same line, I'd like to share that I have 2 little dimples on my lower back, on the sides of my tailbone now. I'd noticed them in other women on the beach a few times but had never had them myself.

AWESOME! That's a very inspiring post, because it's those little things that add up!

When I first started losing weight, I hated when anyone put their hands on my hips. Why? Because like you said, there was no padding! It felt "weird."

Congrats on all your progress!!

Ah yes I went through this too.this past winter was the first time in years I have known what it actually felt like to be COLD!! For yrs I have been running the ac almost continuously and the rest of the family complaining it was freezinggg..I told them all they just had no blood running through their veins and to put clothes on...HA HA...of course this past winter would have to be one of the coldest on records here in SC and of course I do not own a winter coat..so needless to say, I froze my backside off without all of my whale blubber..I also noticed the crossing my legs thing and how much easier it was to do day to day tasks( even things we take for granted like sitting on the toilet)Bending over to shave and being able to reach and actually SEE the backs of your legs while doing it AND not feeling as if you are drowning while leaning over to paint your toenails..yep I LOVE IT!!!!Congrats and enjoy!!

I am LMAO at "whale blubber", Strive. You are funny.

I was shocked at how uncomfortable it is for me to sit on the floor now. My backside has always been the largest part of me, and although I've weighed what I weigh now in the past, pants from that time could fit 2 or 3 of my butt now.

Ha actually I have the REVERSE of that! I've always had no butt and when I was ana the small amount of fat on my *** melted away. It was really painful to sit in hard chairs (plastic or wooden) so class was always brutal.

I put on a lot of weight in recovery, but still had no butt and always worried when I sat in anyone's lap (my dad used to tease me when I was kid and would sit on his knee about having a bony butt).

But, now I started doing squats and my *** has gotten bigger and it is TOTAL MUSCLE. My (male) TP grabbed my *** about a month ago and kinda shreiked "it's like steel." Hehehehe...I have buns of steel...

Moral of the story: Squat girls, it helps!
