Yes, probably 60-80% would be something to shoot for on bench. I'd just start at 50% of bodyweight and keep going up from there until you max out. It's tough to get a dead on prediction since the motions are different and there isn't 100% carryover, but 75% is a good guesstimate. [img]/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Try it and see!

I feel like when I do pushups, more weight is distributed to the triceps than when I bench, and since my triceps are stronger I don't think I will ever bench even 75% of my weight. Maybe I could do 75% for my max, but for 3 sets of 12 reps I do 55% of my weight.

I did 40 pushups on my last PT test (about 2 weeks ago) and I can barely bench the bar (which I guess is about 45lbs). I don't know.... maybe it's all in my head, but I'd say about 50% of your body weight. I weigh about 125lbs.

Aside from that.... Great job Amy! [img]/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] You'll be back at 20 before you know it. 6 months ago I would have never believed it if someone told me I'd do 40 (my most before that was 24).
