Default Grumbling us out of house and home.....

Hi everyone,
I have another question regarding hunger.
I do cardio once a week, saturday, on an empty stomach. I go to the gym first thing in the morning and do about 30 - 40 minutes of as intense cardio as I can, which is always that much considering I'm already starving when I roll out of bed. (i stop eating at about 6:30 every night)
Anyways, I throw myself in to the kitchen as soon as I get home and have my normal breakfast (1/2 c oats, 4 egg whites, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 tsp uod's oil.) I've heard that intense weightlifting sessions will keep your metabolism revved up for hours after you leave the gym, but that your heart rate and metabolism return to normal within an hour after cardio. But for the rest of Saturday, without fail, I am shakingly hungry. I eat my normal food, and nothing fills me up.
I do cardio once a week on empty because I've heard that it burns more body fat. Is this the price you pay for doing so? Is it possible that I am burning away my muscle if I remain hungry and fatigued for the duration of the day? I want to be buring FAT, not muscle, I'm I being counterproductive?
I'd appreciate any advice, thanks, Braidyn

Doing super high intensity cardio on an empty stomach is not a good idea because it burns muscle. You want to stick with low to moderate intensity cardio on an empty stomach because it burns fat and less glycogen, glycogen stores are tapped out in the morning, especially since you do not eat after 6:30. Lower the intensity on your cardio when you do it on an empty stomach. You want to use fat as fuel and not burn muscle. Personally I like to do a moderate paced walk with the incline set to about 7 or ride the stationary bike. You are turning an aerobic activity into an anerobic activity when you do super high intensity cardio. Meaning the higher the intensity, the more the body burns glycogen and less fat as fuel. Which is why it is a bad idea to do high intensity on an empty stomach
