Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs-even though checkered by failure than to take rank with these poor spirits who neither enjoy much or suffer much. Be wise, they live in the gray twilight that know not of victory, nor defeat. Nor true sorrow nor true love.
--Theodore Roosevelt

It's not the critic who counts. It's not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of the deed could have done it better. The credit belongs to the man in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who strives vailantly, who errs and come up short again and again, who at best knows the high achievement of triumph, who at worst, fails while daring greatly for he knows his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory no defeat.
--Theodore Roosevelt

You tried, therefore you are one who counts. If you never play, you never win. You've done well my lady.

Wow, be proud! You did great!

I have a great deal of respect for people who compete for the love of the game, knowing they won't place. That shows dedication and true joy at doing something you love.

Don't sweat it. It looks like that was a tough field if you ran that pace and came in last. I run reaaaaaaaaaaally slow...much slower than that (like 10 minute mile, 9min maybe if its just one mile...Eek!).

Good job hon!

That is much faster than I can drag my butt! Good for you for even finishing! I'd be interested in doing things like that. You'll have to give me the details!

You did it, tried and finished...I say you are a winner for just doing it!

Most sit on their arse - I respect those who try!
