Trying to gain a few pounds. I weight 99lbs and am 5'3 3/4 I eat all the time foods such as you name it I eat it.. What do you suggest?

I was in the same boat as you and am up to 112 lbs. I eat lots of protien (about 120-130 gm a day), moderate carbs and fats. But I also use glutamine (10 grams a day) and creatine (5 grams a day) then flax and fish oils. I try to eat something every 2 - 2.5 hours. A typical "snack" for me is cottage cheese and almonds.
I lift as heavy as I can. I think that is key for us hard gainers. Lift heavy. We don't bulk as easily as others can. I also keep my cardio to 20 min 3x a week and keep my heart rate at about 70-75%. If I do more than that I lose muscle. Keep the faith it will come, just takes a little longer for some than others.

It took about 4 months. The weight came on slowly for me. Although once I turned 34 (and 35 is looming), it seems to be picking up steam [img]/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
I see you are from Washington. Is that DC or Washington state?

I'm 29 and will be turning the B-I-G 30 in July.. So my goal is to gain at least 5lbs in 2 months. Do you think that is possible.. I would be happy at that.. It is so hard to find clothes. They're all to short for my height.. I'm sure you have the same problems.. |

OMG do I have a problem with clothes. I am 5'4 and wear a size 2. I feel your pain.
I think you can gain 5 in 2 but it will take some serious commitment. Lay off of the cardio for a while and eat, eat, eat, lift, lift, lift. I would suggest reading *********** fitday journal for some food suggestions. She be da bomb on eating clean. I am in North Idaho, just watched the Zags beat Cinci. Guess I will be watching bball on Sat too.

Kool! Yeah I was listening on the radio and heard they won.. Too KOOL!!
Try wearing a 0. And they are so short. Sucks cause I like to wear heels but when I do then my pants look like high waters.. Sucks to be me.. Guess I shouldn't be whinning I got my health.. I'll look for that book cause it's hard to eat healthy and gain weight.. |
