Default Training good...Diet BAD!

I am so annoyed with myself. I am so disciplined in the gym, but when it comes to food...

The knowledge is there. I know how many calories I should be consuming in a day. I know which foods I should eat or avoid. It's all in the willpower.

When I think of the progress I'm missing out on it makes me sick...

Nope ladies...I'm not looking for pity. I just need a great big kick in the a$$ !!!

i think we all have this problem at some point. i can do great for weeks and then all of a sudden fall off the horse. i just try my best everyday!

i keep pics of women whose bodies i admire in my kitchen (on the fridge and cupboards) so that when i'm tempted to eat something i have to look at those pics first. looking at what i would like to look like before i open the fridge/cupboards helps to tempt me from eating bad!

don't keep bad food in the house is another thing i can't do. its too tempting!

as far as a kick in the ***... well don't make us here at abc drive up to canada and take your statement "I just need a great big kick in the a$$" literally... haha j/k hun!

I have started looking at it as a lifestyle change. I am learning to make choices I can live with for the rest of my life.

Soccerchik, I do the same thing with the pictures! I keep them in my undies draw and in the morning when I go for a fresh pair, I am reminded of my goal. haha, we're a sick breed!!

Well, the way I eat right now is certainly night and day compared to how I used to eat...

I have very high standards and very big goals...I eat clean 80% of the time. I'd like to push that up to 95%.

I'm still learning how my body reacts to different foods and it's amazing...the more fine-tuned my build gets, the more I notice the little changes. I can be pretty cut one evening, then wake up all puffy.

Ah, just gotta keep on pushing....

It just takes time, it really does, to ween yourself off of "bad" foods. And I think that the closer you get to how you really want to look, when you really start becoming pleased with how you look, it gets easier. My step son tries to tempt me every once in a while with his ice cream or pizza and it's really not as difficult for me to turn it down as it used to be. And I really think a lot of the reason for that is because #1 I've stayed away from those foods for so long that my cravings for them have almost disappeared, that is as long as I'm not calorie restricted or have gone too long without eating. And #2, I value my seeing my six pack (for example) so much that I have a totally different outlook on food now. I don't WANT to eat that ice cream cause I love my six pack so much that I don't want it to go away by my eating ice cream. I'd rather have my six pack all the time than enjoy a bowl of ice cream for 10 min. I pretty much told my step son the same thing, that I enjoy having my six pack MORE than I enjoy eating that ice cream, and that has pretty much become the truth!

I don't know though, I think A LOT of it has to do with what I said earlier. I'm not restricting my calories and I really think that makes it A LOT easier to turn down bad foods. I don't restrict my calories, but just eat pretty close to as much clean food as I want. I say pretty close cause I never eat til I'm full, just til I'm satisfied, big difference.

Amen to this! The program I had a lot of success with (BodyRX) allows unlimited "green carbs"; all nonstarchy veggies and almost all fruit. I know that never being really "hungry" made things way easier for me during the 6 months I did it.
