Hey i am wondering how much protein i should take?.
Here is what i am doing: Because i am trying to get back in shape, i am planning to get my heart rate up thru some running(1-2 week) THen sprints. see how i do. But then when i feel i am at the right spot to start lifting, ill start(i am planning this to be around may) Anway i am trying to figure out how much protein i shoudl take now, given that my exercises consist mostly of cardio. i am 6 feet, out of shappe! and weighting about 165 thanks for any advice.

you dont need to be in shape to lift weights. start that NOW.
a good starting place for protein is 1g per pound of body weight. 165 = 165g of protein

you have roughly 125 lbs of LBM so you need around 125-150 grams of protein a day...

Yeah, I second that.. Start lifting now!!
Start out with low weights, high reps, until your muscles get back in shape. then go heavy. this will get your heart rate up to where it needs to be, and will train the muscles you're going to be using to lift so they're ready when you are. Doing some cardio and sprints isn't a bad idea either, but you need to start getting some muscle built. go for it
