Hello All,
Making goals is sometimes something only other like-minded people can appreciate in our realm of interest. Even family members don't often fully understand the joy that our hard work brings us when we attain new heights. That is why I will share with all of you a new personal best for me on a heavy leg day. I start with leg extensions to warm up my quads and stretch between sets. My goal is to get blood into those muscles and stretch out my entire body to reduce the chance of injury. After 5 sets of extensions; first two are warm-ups with little to no weight the last one is the whole stack, I move to squats. This is where I saw a new gain yesterday. I did another warm up set, just to make sure the mechanics of my body were ready for the assault and the cage wasn't going to collapse around me, and then moved into hardcore mode. Set 1-315# 8reps. Set 2-405# 8reps Set 3-495# 6reps and finally set 4 was a new personal best at 585# for 4 reps. Nothing like seeing the bar sag under the weight and the adrenaline scorching pump that I obtain from achieving this milestone. Thanks for listening, Mr. Z |
