Default Getting Smart

Hello fellow fitness fanatics! I'm fairly new to the world of lifting and the threads that I've been reading here are very informative. I'm looking for some education and desire to get into much better shape than I am in currently. I just joined a gym but have a fairly large physique as I spent 14 years in the Army but I have let myself go over the past 12 years and am ready to fix myself. Wish me luck!

CarterJames, what are you trying to accomplish in the gym? I assume since "you let yourself go" for the last 12 years that you are looking to reduce your body fat and add strength. I suggest cardio several days a week and look at the StrongLifts 5x5 unless you are looking to go into bodybuilding.
