Day 157

Seated military press
99x9
99x8
88x8
88x8

CGBP
110x9
132x8
121x7

Military felt good considering the time off, not far off my best. CGBP was shocking, i felt weak on that but it will climb back up soon enough. Heavy squats/light deadlift tomorrow.

Seems so strange to post back on here. Well my mum passed away in June 2011 and its now Sept 2013 and i've only just managed to think about training again.
In that time i've been promoted in work...twice so i'm now a dept manager which takes up 50-60 hrs a week of my time.
To keep in some shape i've done a lot of swimming and recently took up cycling.
For a few months now its been itching at me to get back to the gym and lift iron again. So the plan is to do some flexibility work for a few weeks (Yoga, general stretching) then begin lifting once more. Due to the great results achieved previously for the first couple of months I'm planning on doing starting strength then I'll re-assess and most likely go towards hypertrophy based workouts to pile on some mass.
Good to see the same guys still posting on here (Arian, commander etc..)

Starting Strength Workout 1

Squats

44x5
44x5
66x5
88x5
110x5x3

Bench Press

44x5
44x5
55x5
66x5
77x5
88x5x3

Deadlift
44x5
88x5
110x5
132x5
154x5

Back to it after what feels like an eternity. Carried on adding weight til i felt like the next increase would compromise form then did my working sets.
Each subsequent workout i'm planning on 11lb increases for squats
10lb for bench (down to 5lb after 2 weeks)
15lb for deadlifts.

Good looking group here Greg. I am proud to see you are coming back. I lost my mom a couple years back and I even preached her funeral at her request. Having a chance to burn out in the gym helped greatly. I have no words but always a shoulder my brother. God Bless!
