I think it can be maximized by doing deadlifts and squats (a little lesser effect).

I always assumed it was endorphins but I don't know.

I'm drawn to the post workout high. I'm much more talkative. For instance, I normally hate talking on the phone. But after working out, talking on the phone is actually bearable, sometimes, even enjoyable.

The desire for the workout high can cause me to work out too much. There are days that I'm really too tired to work out. I need to rest. But I want the high. So I work out anyway.
