Hi everyone!
I have been working out for a few years but my girlfriend wants to start working out and im looking for a basic routine for her targeted at just basically toning. Weight loss isn't a big motivation as shes naturally thin and "fit LOOKING" (obviously cant be that fit if she doesnt workout lol) is doing this for a more healthy lifestyle. i tried google but only managed to find about 900 pay sites. Preferably im looking for a 3 day split routine. She currently only does cardio, kick boxing and yoga. Thanks alot everyone!! GREATLY appreciated! |

Men go to gym to lift weighs and build muscles while women go to gym to "tone up", but to say, they are just doing the same thing. The difference is on how much you lift weighs, the reps and the sets you are doing and also calories you take in.

I take "tone up" as having some muscle and low body fat so that the muscle shows some. Which is basically what a guy would do when they cut, just that they have more muscle. So like bigbear said, you can just get her to do what you do. Or you could just build a simple upper/lower split for her that focuses on the areas that she wants to tone up the most.

There is no such thing as toning
The only difference between men and women when lifting is not as suggested how much you lift or calories as i know a few women who can deadlift 400lb at size 10... muscle size difference is down to testosterone.. aslong as she isnt using AAS she wont get blocky like blokes do. Any basic workout suitable for men is suitable for women. |

The 3 day-per-week whole body toning workout. This workout is designed for people who don't want to build up bulk but just want to tone and strengthen their muscles.
This workout would go well with an existing cardio or weight loss program. You can do this workout on the same day or separate days to your cardio, it really doesn't matter. This workout hits all major muscle groups over 3 days. MONDAY 45 degree leg press 3x20 Seated rows 3x20 Incline fiyes 2x14 Standind cable curls 2x20 Tricep extensions Dumbbells 2x20 WEDNESDAY Smith machine squat 3x20 Seated calf raise 2x20 Lat pulldown to front 3x20 Tricep kickbacks 2x20 Standing dumbbell curl 2x20 Decline sit up 2xmax FRIDAY Dumbbell lunge 3x10 each leg wide grip pulldowns to the front 3x15 Dumbell bench press 3x15 Tricep bench dip 3x15 Horizontal leg raise 2xmax Hope this helps some!! If you ask me just get her to be more serious in kickboxing and go for jogs every morning.
That will give great fitness. And I mean really serious in kickboxing. 5 days a week for 2-3 hours every day atleast :P She doesn't need to lift weights man. But if she really wants to then get her to do the same things as you, lighter weight, more reps, and add an entire day for abs if you don't already do it. |
