5x5
The worst session of all time.............. Have been training at night almost every time and thought i would train in the morning that day. Bad Bad decision. Hadnt eaten anything that morning other than an apple and energy drink and the workout looked like this: Squat: 92.5kg - 5,5,-,-,- Overhead press: 50kg - 5,4,4,4,3 Deadlift: 120kg - 5 After two sets of squats I could feel my lower back having trouble supporting the weight and my form becoming sloppy so i stopped. Next time I do the overhead press on the same weight i know i can get all 5 sets of 5 reps. I got the 5 reps of deadlifts but it felt harder than it should of.

i did a modified 5 x 5 routine over the winter from IA's old journals.at 1st i couldn't grasp the concept but after reading Darkhorses posts over and over i finally got it down.i broke every PR i ever had, including squats,my weakest exercise.even my flat bench went from about 275 x 5 to 360 x 2 in a matter of months.great program.enjoy your growth.i plan on doing it again once i get back into the gym soon...

Yea same story with me - got my weakest lift up (squats) to one of its strongest. Ive recently changed to a 4 day split but still using the 5x5 concept a lot.
