Default Repper, my first Android app

Hey, long time no see. I wonder if anyone around here even remembers me? In any case, I came to see if any one from my old fitness stomping ground would like to test out my first mobile app, inspired by my love of fitness.

Its called Repper: https://market.android.com/details?id=air.Repper

Its really simple, its just a rep max calculator for Android. But if you have a few minutes to spare and want to test it and give me any feedback that would be awesome.

Also, should anyone have any clever or useful ideas for further fitness apps I could develop, I'm all ears. I'm a developer looking for inspiration so let me have it. Thank guys and gals.

If I had an Android, I'd check it out, as things are, I am stuck in the dark ages regarding cell phones!

And yes, I remember you. Hope to see you on the boards some more.

Tony,

I installed in on my HTC Incredible.

What does it actually do? If I enter Weight 225 and # of reps of 6. What does 10 reps of 203 really mean? One set of 10 reps of 203?

Is the weight in pounds? KG?

Why does it bring up the alpha keyboard rather than the numeric?

Why can you only select up to 7 reps?

Why no menu selection? At least, an About?

Troy

Tony,

It is the first app that I've installed that required Adobe Air.

FYI, Troy

I used no units so that the formula applies to any weight you put in

Because thats a shortcoming of developing with Adobe Air unfortunately.

You can scroll the list that pops up with the number of reps. I'm glad you mentioned that though, its obviously not intuitive. I'll look into fixing that.

Again, Adobe Air doesn't support the native Android menus and I didn't think it was worth the effort to recreate them when I didn't have valuable content to put in there.

After some feedback from bigironcross, as well as many others, I have a new revision of Repper for Android: https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

- No longer needs Adobe Air
- Does 1-15 reps for calculations
- includes the units of weight (lb, kg, and stone)
- uses a numeric keypad now

Any other feedback is much appreciated. iPhone version coming soon!
