I can't say it's been tough, because it hasn't, but I was almost getting bored with my cut, Here's why:

From 200 to 190, it was exciting because I was visually changing, but from 190 to 185, I wasn't making much progress visually, so to start getting more vascular felt great. I hope this will drive forward the progress.

Diet Update:

Totals will remain the same as when I changed them on June 30th.

Bodyweight average now: 184.8

Weight loss was slightly more aggressive this past 2 weeks.

Yesterday

Off Day

Played in my mother-in-law's pool with my kids the whole afternoon, visited with family, then went home and my wife and I started cleaning out our basement for a garage "sale", (sale is in quotations, because my wife and I refuse to go through our stuff and put price tags on it, it will be a free for all give away!).

Today is leg day and a refeed, I am bloated on oatmeal right now, lol.

So I read about other people's refeeds where they gain 5-10 lbs on a refeed, not me, my body assimilates that extra carbs right up! 210 extra grams of carbs and I weighed in this morning at 183.5! Down 1 pound!

----------

Leg Day

Well, I gotta start posting numbers again for my squat. It is down nearly 100 lbs. I will not re-hash the reasons, as you already know if you have been reading my journal. But it was partially neglect and recently intentional as I have other goals.

However, on a positive note, my form and depth were awesome tonight, but I can't post the videos because I was in my briefs, lol, the benefits of working out in your basement!

I am confident that when I drop the cardio and start bulking in the fall I can give my squat some attention and get it back up.

Squat
120, 170, 220, 270x3
220, 3 sets x 5 reps
245, 270, 295x1

Deadlift
120, 170, 206, 256, 306, 356, 386x2 - all overhand grip
411, 436x1
386x5
306x12 - 6 over hand, 6 mixed grip, switching the mixed grip after 3 reps

Did an extensive warmup for the squats like I did when I ran Smolov, it felt great, definitely helped with me keeping my arch and hitting depth.

your squat will come back...i had surgery and lost everything and had to restart from scratch and it came back w/in a month or so..with a good base, i give you 3-4 good squatting sessions and your muscles will know what to do!!!

Thanks for the optimism, however, I think it will take a little longer than that. Reason being, my squat IQ is horrible. I can take time off from deadlift and be fine, but time off from squat kills my squat poundage.

And I admittedly won't be giving it the attention it needs right now, I want to hit my deadlift more frequently and do sled work, tire flips, etc.

I can totally relate. Once the veins start poppin, it is a feeling like no other. Those veins will start to pop out on you more and more as you progress, which is motivation in itself!

I get pumps now like never before, and it is unreal at how quickly the body can change. Vascularity is my new addiction, haha.

Now there is one addiction I wouldn't mind, bring it on.

------

Weighed in at 183 this morning.

Push Day - with some Bonus Squats

I tried a worked that CT wrote over at T-Muscle. Usually I enjoy his suggestions and they work well. But I wasn't terribly thrilled with this one. Basically, you do 1 main exercise, ramping up in small increases and stopping when you are not explosive. Then you do 4-5 exercises for 1 set only of max reps. Funny thing is, I thought I would enjoy it, but it felt like something was lacking, but I can't put my finger on it, maybe it was too little volume even for me.

Flat Bench
150 (plus 10) 230x3 - still good speed
240x3 - reps getting slow

CGBP
170x13

Inc Bench
145x12

Push Press
145x9

Dips
BWx20

I was warming up for squats in between sets of bench and the other exercises which may have impacted my focus and pump which could be why I didn't enjoy the workout.

I decided to punish myself for being weak in the squat

Squat
120, 170, 220, 270x1

220x20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YaCB5OowkM

If you watch the video....yes...I am in my boxers.

It's been awhile since I did a widowmaker, that was a 20lb pr.

Good stuff, didn't cheat yourself on a single rep, don't worry your squat is nowhere as weak as mine. I think I need some people to stop by my journal occassionally and tell me how weak I am for motivation.
