how is your diet and what sort of training scheme are you using at the min?
about 4000 cals with 40/40/20 macros..
I was on a bench & DL hypertrophy routine (see my journal), but the old lower back injury cropped up again, i'll be starting SS again in a week or two..

i liked SS except for the tendonitis i ended up with in my knee, also atributed to falling down the stairs and causing a bit of ligament damage. i'm going to give SS another blast in a few months time once i know my knee will handle it. im currently doing a mixed routine of heavy compound and light isolation, geared more towards hypertrophy.
bench and OH press im doing 3x5 same as starting strength also deads 1x5, everything else in the 8-15 rep range, im also on a 7 day split which in a few weeks i'll change back to a 5/6 day split. ive achieved the same strength gains as on SS for deads and bench but with the added benefit of isolation work on top.

Day 35

Weight 158.6lbs

Shoulders, Bi's, forearms

Deadlifts
132x5x2
203.5x3x1
236.5x5x1 (PR)

O/H BB Press
44x5x2
71.5x3x1
99x5x3

Upright Rows
80x11
80x8
70x10

Seated concentration curls
25'sx10
30'sx8
27.5'sx9
25'sx9

Reverse wrist curls w/ wrist curls
30x12/50x14
25x13/50x12
25x12/40x12

This was a great workout today, i felt much more powerful doing OH presses without any kind of pre exhaust as i used to do them after doing chest. Im hoping doing deadlifts beforehand gives me a greater hormone release so i can maximise hypertrophy. Im getting stronger on everything and im happy ive set a new PR for deadlifts for the 3rd workout in a row.

Day 36

Weight 159.0lbs

Leg day

Squats
44x5x2
110x3x1
165x5x3

Leg extentions
110x12
110x10
100x9

Standing calve raises (DC style)
90x13 (1,5,15 cadence) 1 minute rest
105x13 (1,5,5 cadence)

Lying hamstring curls
60x8
50x11
50x8

Ab crunches
BWx15x3

Squats are starting to feel better, my knee no longer hurts and i can do 3 sets of 5 comfortably. im going to slowly increase the weight (6lbs per workout) so i dont push my luck and i can ensure i maintain good form. My calves are finally beginning to increase in strength and size aswell. I think for my next workout i might have to up the volume or introduce some supersets as i ahve done the same routine for a few months now.
Any suggestions to help with quad and hamstring hypertrophy workouts are welcome, although id like to keep squats as the foundation of my leg workouts.

day 38
weight 158.4lbs

Back, forearms

Wide grips chins
4 sets with BW - 8, 6, 4, 4

DB shrugs
55'sx12
60'sx10
70'sx9

Lat pulldowns
121x10 (PR)
132x7x2

Reverse curls
50x11
40x12
40x10
40x9

Behind back wrist curls
90x13
80x11
70x10

This workout felt good today, although its a back workout i didnt really feel like i did much for it but im going to stick with this volume for the time being. forearms felt very good and i can tell my grip is better as my traps failed before my forearms on the shrugs.

day 39
weight 160.0lbs

Chest, tris

Bench press
159.5x5
159.5x4
154x4 (was meant to be hitting 3x5 on 159.5 but wasnt feeling it today)

Incline flyes
30'sx8
27.5'sx8
25'sx9

Dips
BWx11
BW+5kgx6
BW+10Kgx5 (PR)

French press w/ tricep pressdowns
35x10/100x9
35x8/90x10
30x9/80x9

Not my best workout to date as i wasnt feeling 100% on bench press but i managed a PR on dips and ive brought back a tricep superset that i used a while back and loved. My arms when pumped looked huge after this and im sure its going to result in some decent growth.
