Another nice log pr. I am building a deadlift/olympic lift platform for my basement. I bought 4 2x4 3/4 panel sheets. I am going to double stack them so they will be 1 1/2 inch thick each for deadlifts. I am awaiting rubber gym mats to put on top of them. Today I just used them single stacked for the log. I am not sure if I am going to glue/screw them together yet because it will be a close call to the ceiling with oh presses. Now my deadlifts won't get stuck in the small crater in my basement floor lol.

Awesome intensity today. I think I sweated out a small elephant lol. I was drenced. It was so hot out. I could not wait for that post workout shake.

Oh yea it is a blast lol. It is easier to deadlift the farmers into position than a regular dl but still hard. For me personally once I get past the first few steps it gets a lot easier.

Hang Cleans- 95x5 115x3 135x3 160x3 185x1 185x3 BB rows- 225x5 265x5 305x2 325x5 (pr) Pullups (Wide/Neutral/Underhand) ss Lying leg raises 5/5/5 ss 25x10 5/5/5 ss 25x10 5/5/5 ss 25x10 Seated calf ss Woodchoppers- 45 x 50/ 25x10 90 x 40/ 25x10 90 x 50 Seated bb wrist curl (underhand) ss Swissball crunches- 85x12/bw x 20 95x12/bw x 20 105x8/bw x 20 1 mile in 7:40 (hard route lots of hill) *7 out of 10. Pretty tiring day lots of supersets. I am really weak on hang cleans especially compared to power cleans from the floor. Lucky for me there are no hang clean competitions out there lol.

7/22/09 DE Oh (deload +active recovery)
Axle Oh (clean 1st) (2.5 inch) 125 5x3 Inc Cg- 135x5 185x5 205x2 235x4 Band Pushdown- Green x 15,15,15 Band rows- Green x 20, 20, 20 Band Goodmorning- Puple x 20, 20 Band curl- Purple x 20, 20 Jog .6 miles Walk . 6 miles *This is my last day training this week. I am going to be competeting in a strongman show on saturday. It was a last minute decision but an easy day today followed by a little over 2 days rest should be enough for me to be recovered and ready to go.

7/25/09 1st Strongman Competition
Considering, I decided to do this show a few days ago I really couldn't expect much as I was not very prepared. This was the show of the medley lol unfortunately for me I never did a medley before. 3 of the 5 events were. I never touched more than half of the implements before and I know I can only get better with practice. 1st event- 210 atlas stone/200 keg/200 tire/200 pipe carry. (50 feet each) I got the stone, keg, and tire, and ran out of gas and time on the pipe. My hamstrings were on fire like never before. Not a good start. 2nd event- 180 log/200 axle/ 130 keg/230 log Got up to 230 log. Made the clean missed the press. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmRdylPqni0 3rd Event Last man standing DL- Made 405, 455, 500, 550, missed 585 right below knees. This was the highlight of my day lol I tied for the win at LW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvgcCKXonFQ 4th Event 500 Yoke (50ft), 500x3 tire, anchor pull 500lbs (50ft). Got about 25 ft with the anchor ans ran out of time. I wore the wrong shoes and could get no grip and did not realized I should have rowed it. 5th Event 300lb atlas stone for reps over 48 inch. Yeah right lol. I got it about 1 inch off the floor. I never touched a stone near this size. I have more videos but youtube is taking forever right now. I learned more about strongman today then I did in the last year. Prior today I never touched a keg, yoke, tire, anchor, pipe carry. I can only get better and I will. I had a blast though and will certainly do it again and everyone was real cool.
