Motivation: http://www.mindiobrien.com/free/pics...d/dscf9324.jpg
To quote the Prez, "Cable pullovers are one of the best all around and technique sound exercises I know of. Its unfortunate that they are not used more often." I must admit that, prior to my workout this morning, I was one of the unfortunate souls who had not taken advantage of this great exercise. Rest assured, however, it will be neglected no more by this trainee! CABLE PULLOVERS Begin by positioning a flat bench in front of a low cable pulley with a triceps rope attachment, ensuring that the bench is far enough from the pulley to get a good stretch in your lats. Lie supine with your head nearest the weight stack. To force your chest musculature to do more of the pulling, utilize a straight-arm technique, pulling the weight over as if you were driving a heavy sledge hammer into a huge railroad nail (as described by OldSchool). Squeeze your chest for a peak contraction, then return slowly to the start position. Make sure you keep your back flat on the bench throughout the movement. Note: Your triceps are going to burn like mad too!!! I can't wait to use the other variations of this exercise with a cable (incline, decline, bent-arm, other attachments, etc.)! Enjoy! That is a good one. I use pull-overs tons in my workout. Typically I do at least 3 exercises 5 sets each per workout. It has worked wonders or my serratus.
I have never tried decline on cables, though. I'll have to try that out!
