I guess if you do want to use smaller increments, for example if you have 40's and 50's but want to use 45's they could be useful, but what else would you use them for?

They look like these: Plate Mates. Have you ever wanted 12.5, or 17.5 lb dbs? These are the solution - they are magnetic, and just stick to the ends of metal dbs.

Not really, they can be useful. They also have use on the cable stack for smaller increments or even to add more weight to the stack itself which usually only goes up to 300 or so.

Sometimes I like tiny increments when doing drop sets, and these would be epecially quick to unload.
