[ QUOTE ]
"Older" people SHOULD hit the weights! It will ward off all sorts of afflictions!! Tell your grandmother to hit the gym and show those teenage boys up! [/ QUOTE ] Go Nozzle! Well, first off I have to say that a few years ago, I was the fitness instructor of a group whose oldest member was 81 and youngest 60. Yes, consulting her doctor first is a must to have a more complete idea of her health and what areas need to be considered in sense of diet and medical conditions. Second...by the end of the first six months...my group of extreme-grams could eat several cardio bunnies for snack without a sweat!. They were strong, confident and with lots of energy. They wanted to challenge their limits and push themselves to the max. From all the groups that I had taught to..including students on their 20's...the older group was the most hardcore. There are not limits...only those of the mind. Of course, there is a progression that must be done at any level in regards to safety, proper form and execution of exercise. We all go through this progression, regardless of age. Make sure you high five granny after her first workout and don't be surprised if later on...she starts warming up with YOUR max. LOL. Amazon
