Olympic Lifting or Power Lifting
My 21 year old son who is currently in the US Army serving in Afghanistan asked me about competing in either Olympic lifting or Power lifting. He is currently 158 pounds and said that he could probably weight about 148 pounds to compete. He can do 335 on bench press, squat 385 twice and dead lift about 425.
As you can imagine, his gym equipment isn't currently the best. No platforms, cushioned weights, etc. so that he can drop the weights during max attempts.
What do you think? Olympic lifting or Power lifting?
