I thought preacher curls worked the bicep most when it is extended, not peaked. IMO the best for peak are ones that have a lot of force pulling against your muscle when it is at full contraction, i.e. the machines, or doing curls on an incline bench.

agreed. I don't like preacher curls because when you get to the top of the motion, you have no more tension.
A preacher machine would work good, which from what i understand is what Larry Scott used anyways..
