best routine i ever seen for this kind of thing is that body for life program. 6 days on, one cheat day.
day one: upper body. two favorite exercises for each body part. 2 sets 10 reps.
day two: 20 minutes cardio.
day three:lower body/abes. two exercises each body part. 2 sets 10 reps.
day four: 20 minutes cardio

it will probably be just about perfect for her... its proven and safe and she should have no problems with it. it's real easy to follow the nutrition programs especially if you help her out with it.
