Hello all. Longtime member, been away for a very long time.

Decided to comeback to the forum as it's been awhile since I chatted with fellow lifters.

Never stopped lifting and am currently in the best shape I've been in in a very long time. Still holding some fat but not too worried about it for now. Going to start with a 5x5 for a light-medium bulk for the next 3 months.

It's also been a long time since I counted calories so I'll start at a conservative 3k for the first 2 weeks and adjust from there.

I decided to switch up my program a bit. I was going to run the Stronglifts 5x5 program but after a week, I decided it's just too abbreviated for me.

I have since switched up to the ICF 5x5 which entails more accessory work and changes up some of the lifts. Only done one session so far but thoroughly enjoyed it. Second session this afternoon.

I have to say, it's definitely a different approach to what I'm used to. Squatting 3x a week and never working to failure.

5'6" and 207! BEAST!

I like the 5x5, it definitely helps increase strength. Nothing wrong with squatting 3x/week. ;)

Thanks Joe. So far so good. 2 weeks into 5x5 lifting and no signs of slowing progress yet.

My back went out last week which it hasn't done in 2 years :mad: I made it through todays workout but had to belt up for Barbbell Rows and Shrugs.

Diet isn't the greatest right now. Eating a lot of junk but aiming to keep my cals high. Should be able to clean it up this coming week as a major grocery store visit is in order :D

Gibbster 01-27-2014 02:45 AM looks like I may be getting hired for a Physical Labor job for the first time since I was in my teens. At 36 going on 37, I refuse to be beaten by the younger guys so I'm going to be switching up my training starting tomorrow.

I'm going to keep the 5x5 routine for the core lifts and see how long I can keep making progress while adding in cardio work and some other lifts associated with working physical labor.
