I'm quitting cigarettes

Yes, I know, it's a very nasty habit. That's why I'm quitting. As I start to get more and more interested in exercise, the need for me to quit has also been getting greater and greater. Yesterday morning I smoked a cigarette and said to myself, "You know what, f*** this ****, I'm tired of it f***ing up my lungs and being a slave to this chemical." So now it's been 24 hours. Getting over the cravings has actually been easier than I thought it would be... It's probably because I really wanna quit.

What I want from YOU guys is to tell me exactly how bad cigarettes are, especially as it relates to fitness, so I never want to go back. :D

Really bad.

I don't know enough about them to be honest. But here's what I do know.

I know I am cheap and they are expensive. I know they smell and I don't like being smelly. And I know they are hard on your lungs, and well, I am a big fan of breathing, it makes high rep squats much easier when your lungs work.

They have plenty of public service announcements on tv now showing the negative effects of cigarettes. The funny thing is when you're craving a cigarette; once it's been smoked the brain is only satisfied for around 7 mins before the cravings come back.

We have this new approach with this ad. I really like it. I'd like to see booze done the same way.

I have exactly the same feelings about smoking I do smoke and it f****ng sucks bad it costs stupid amounts of money I mean I'm spending around 8 a week which is a lot but I'm quiting them for good because I've started training and I really want to push myself
This may seem odd but 2 ways I've managed to kik my cravings is chewing gum and listening to music it helps,,
Here is a couple of reasons to stop smoking

Smoking ages your skin
Smoking makes you get out of breath
SmOking costs money
Smoking starves you of oxygen and can cause heart attacks

I smoked and dipped off and on my whoe life, I gave up dipping 2 years ago and quit my occasional smoking last April. You have to commit 100% and not cheat or you will keep giving yourself reasons to cheat. Good luck!

Agree! I'm a fan of breathing myself.
