Accessory Exercises for Squats
Please respond by stating your practical experience with accessory exercises that have helped your squats.

Also, I'd like to know about ways to improve hamstring and lower back flexibility.

I've done dynamic warm-ups in the past that really increased my looseness and flexibility.

I agree with Hardcory, being properly warmed up and loose lets me get heavier in poundage.

In regards to exercises, sorry if this isn't helpful, but squatting frequently I found was key to getting stronger and more confident (such as 3 to 4 times per week). I don't really do accessory exercises except dragging a tire.

warming up and using proper form are the best ways i think.

Look up starting and see how mark ripptoe coaches the squat.

The best way to get good at an exercise is doing it very often. Especially squats i have always been one of the squat-atic guys who thinks its the best exercise on the planet earth for pretty much everything...

The only thing i ever did other than squat and deadlifts for my hips and thighs, were monster walks with a band (haha don't trip yourself!). then again, that just for some exterior hip strength (found to be helpful for runs and obstacle courses) and even then, only maybe two or three times a week for like two weeks before an event was ALWAYS more than enough for me.

Thanks guys. I did look at Rippetoes video on squatting and realized my hams are in need of stretching. I warm up AND stretch between sets. Also, I have started doing good mornings with just a barbell for weight to help stretch the hammies a bit more.
