I\'m starting a research project...

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum.

I'm considering doing a research project on the effect of anabolic steroids on rat behavior. I'm going to run it by my professor tomorrow but I wanted to get some opinions here first.

I was thinking of testing for things like increased aggression, weight gain, increased food consumption, etc. What do you all think of this? Has it been done 100 times before? Any different angles I could try?

Thanks.

That souns awesome!

Yes, they have done research related to that. I advise doing a review of related literature--search relevent articles on your topic--then write an introduction, and research proposal.

What are you majoring in? And where?

Re: I\'m starting a research project...

I'm a biology major at Stetson University. This semester I write the proposal, in the fall I do the actual experiment, and next spring is when I present my findings.

I talked to my professor and he said it would be fine to do. He suggested to do it on mice because they housed together in a single cage, whereas the rats are solitary. I reviewed some literature and it seems the experiment has been done several times already so I'm currently trying to put a new twist on it. The problem is that I'm not able to read the full papers for ideas, only the abstracts. I can probably order the journals through the library.

Any new ideas for something else I could test for?

Thanks!
