Hey everyone, I took the plunge, and started squats last Wednesday, and, well, Im still sore, which is awesome! I started very light (95lbs) but was up to 135 when I stopped. However that still isnt much for a guy my size -- my legs are absolutely huge and that is way less than what I was leg pressing. Is that just because Im new to the exercise? Also, since I have no spotter, I used a bodymasters "multipress" -- it has the bar on tracks and had hooks so you can "hook it" if you get into trouble - is this OK? I tried a free squat and it felt exactly the same. Last, I went almost, but not quite paralell -- is that good, or do I need to hit paralell?
