Hey folks,

I thought it might be an idea to try and get a group of us together who are either:

1) Working out at home
or
2) Bulking like mad

I figure working out at home can provide a unique set of challenges and some required creativity with regards to exercises etc and as such we'd more than likely be able to help each other out there.

Feel free to send me a PM or just reply here.

Cheers

I'd probably be interested in this. I'm technically trying to cut but I can't really manage to get my diet hardcore enough (My body really NEEDS a hardcore ultra-clean cut to cut properly) so I might as well be bulking, I'm making some great muscle gains anyway.

Hahahaha... sounds hardcore. Well Unfortunately I'm still about a week away from getting everything I need together.

What's your diet looking like right now?

I really need to record my macros and see where I really stand. I'm sure I'm pretty low calories at the moment. I have been eating out more than I should (taco bell at times, qdoba burritos, burgers (not fast food though), etc.) but mostly my diet is oatmeal, peanut butter, lean meats, wheat bread, limited fruit and veg, and PWO nutrition. My dairy has been going down, given that it seems everywhere I go for milk has been tasting weird or going bad very quickly (time to check the fridge temp I think). I'm definitely not in a bulk diet at the moment, but my muscles are still fighting for a place to stack up, and gaining density. Sadly all I'm really interest in, however, is cutting. I could easily loose 30 pounds (from 210) and not be ripped, so only in the last couple of months have I gained enough bulk to really be able to see most of my muscles under all the fat. Sooo...I suppose it all starts with checking my macros and planning from there. I have a few kinds of wild rice and sweet potatoes at home, just waiting to become part of my diet.

At the moment I workout at home with limited dumbbells (12's, 15's, 25's, and 50's) as well as an EZ bar with 4x10 plates, and 2x 25 plates. I have a pullup bar and a setup for reverse dips. I am currently using the 13 weeks metabolism workout with some modifications to fit what I can lift at home (given my usual lack of a spotter and my equipment limitations).

What is your status and goals?

I am interested in what you are proposing. I currently workout at home. After all the complaining I hear from others about their gyms, I am glad. My only problem is the occassional dog lick while I have a ladden bar over my head.

I have a power rack, olympic bar, about 300 lbs of weights, and upper and lower pulley (for lats and rows), adjustable dumbbells with 100lbs of weights, a swiss ball and two places for pullups ( now if I could only do consecutive pull ups). I am relatively new to lifting, having used the dumbbells for the past year and just recently moving to barbell exercises. I am currently doing Rippetoe's Starting Strength/Stonglifts morp ( due to a previous disk surgery, the rows scare me so I am doing the inverse rows SL recommends).

I am not trying to look like Arnold, just build strength and add some muscle and definition. I started in October 2007 on the TNT workout/diet plan and have continued much of the nutrition plan from that. I try to eat very clean, limit grains to once a day if that much. Friday Night thru Saturday Night I do a carb reload, allowing myself some extra carbs, but finding I don't really desire them.

Okay, I will stop rambling now. IM with more details of what you are thinking.

I'm currently waiting some news on a blood test to help figure out why I'm so exhausted all the time, and given that I haven't been doing much working out lately (Intending to in about an hour when I get home), but I'm pretty enthusiastic to start getting back into things!

At the moment lets start with some pre-workout stuff. What are your guys goals? What specifically short term and long term are you going for?

For me (I apologize if I said some of this already...) I am looking for moderately large muscles, excellent symmetry, strength, and a relatively cut figure. I am currently around 5'10" 210lbs (I could easily loose 30 pounds and not be ripped) so am fairly over weight, but not dangerously fat. My primary goal is to remove this fat to see the musculature I have developed so far, which is considerable. Most of my muscle groups are in a large way close to my bulking goals, but some I cannot tell due to the fat content. My back overall, and my quads, hamstrings, and forearms could use some work, however. I also need to work on my cardiovascular conditioning, but not really having time for the gym, having an exercise bike that leaves my glutes in pain for 5 days afterward no matter how I pad it, and it being cold and wet most of the time here I can't get out and use my bike reasonably, cardio has been hard to manage.

A few specific performance goals include getting to 15 pullups (Still a bit away, I think my best ever, which has been a while since I tried, was around 3-5 pullups and then 5+ chinups, though mos to the time I cannot manage this). Also being able to do 100 straight pushups (I know I can do 75 or so..maybe 100 by now, I haven't tried that in a while). My ultimate fitness goal aside from aesthetics is to be capable of the navy seals fitness test (which I don't intend on taking for armed service!).

I'd fit both categories. What do you have in mind? Just keeping each other accountable, or some type of game like the Hyperplasia Challenge?

Due to current research obligations I'm a few weeks out from being able to lift actively again, but once I can I'll be ready to jump in. Nathan you around?
