First, I am not any sort of supp rep.

I've been using this supplement for about a month. I've lost about 3 pounds, while getting stronger, and my joints no longer ache (which is about half the reason I bought it.) Thoughts? Scientific opinions of the supp?

I'm interested in the science behind the label.

Losing 3 pounds in one month isn't all that newsworthy. That can be done easily with proper diet and training.

But it's weird that you are losing weight on a product that is supposed to help build mass. Which means, there doesn't seem to be much science behind the label. The main ingredients do look to be herbal, like advertised, but its a common mistake to assume that being herbal means safe. Many plants can be harmful. Take peyote, for example, consume 5g< of it and you have an effective dose of mescaline. Point is, I don't know research done on those ingredients and because of that, and because you aren't even gaining muscle (which is its purpose, not strength gain) you should just stay away from it.

And if you have joint pain, there are a few options like JSF or even glucosamine.

Going down the ingredients..

Cissus- many have reported great joint health improvement from this herb

Forsholii Diterpene Complex- supposed to stimulate cAMP production as well as thyroid hormone output, which may explain the fat loss

Urtica Dioica Lignan Complex- supposed to bind to Sex-Hormone Binding Globulin (SBHG), which effectively disables the use of a portion of your body's natural testosterone. By binding to SBHG, urtica dioica is said to allow your body to have more free testosterone since some SBHG will no longer bind to testosterone. Bam, more anabolism.

6-Bromodione- estrogen aromotase inhibitor. AI compounds are meant to prevent testosterone and other sex hormones to aromatize into estrogen.
