Team Punishment will begin its trail of blood, sweat and tears on January first. Currently we have a definitive three member roster. I'm sure there will be more. We will be using the 13 Weeks to Hardcore Fat Burning -
The Workout (http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/13weekfatburningworkout.php) / The Diet (http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/13weekstohardcorefatburningdiet.php)
I have created workout sheets for our team.

Workout Two (http://home.comcast.net/~bloodstone66/Week_3_and_4.pdf)

As of now, Team Punishment is:

I will add to this as time nears. I'll add our stats, other members and pics (maybe)

That workout youve done is perfect. I was just about to widdle it down myself, but looks like you've done all the work! Fantastic looking! I won't be starting my workout until the beginning of March (after I take the bar exam) But I just got a gym membership yesterday (wen't back to a private club I was a member at, what, 6 years ago?!) so I'm anxious to get a feel for all these workouts.

Hey Team Punishment! I am set to begin the 13 week fat burning diet and workout and saw your post. If it's okay can I join as well?
What do I need to do?
Thanks. I need all the support I can get to get back in shape.

Hi Jill. The only thing you need to do is read the given diet procedure and workout procedure. Oh and you need to wait until January First. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif What I would like to do is get your measurements prior to Jan first, so I can post every ones stats together. I would like to get: Neck/Bicep/forearm/Chest/Waist/Hips/Thigh/Calf. Also Gender/Age if you want.
It would be fantastic to have you on the team! Let me know if you are 100% and I'll add you to the list.

This sounds like fun, and great motivation with a bit of competition and commitment thrown in. However since I am female, there are a couple of concerns.
1) I don't think I want a thick back as some of these exercises state they are for.
2) I don't think I want big forearms or neck either.
Perhaps my ignorance is shining like a deer in headlights, but I don't know enough about bodybuilding to make any changes (if needed) to the program.
Do I want to burn some serious fat? Yes
Do I want to be buff? Yes
Do I know what the heck I'm doing? No!
Any thoughts?

Hey Tsquare, Have you lifted in the past?
Assuming you have, this would be a good workout.
If you have not, this would not be the right workout for you. I've done the workouts and they are pretty intense.
13 weeks, actually twelve is not enough to build you a huge back. The only damage I think will be done is toning up.
Maybe you can contact Venom or Wilson here and see what they can suggest. If you do decide that you would like to be a part of this Team, let me know and I'll add you to the roster. By the 30th of this month, I'm going to need you physical statistics. You can see what I mean by my previous post. Good luck with your decision. -Greg

Count me in! Here are my stats. I will start on 1/1. It will be so much more motivating having us all on the same workout schedule. I can't wait to start.
Name: Jill
Gender: F
Age: 30
Neck: 12.75"
Bicep: 10.75"
Forearm: 8.75"
Chest: 34"
Waist: 30.5"
Hips: 38.5"
Thigh: 22.5"
Calf: 13.88"
Tsquare - It's nice to see another girl on the team. I understand your concerns about building up a big neck or back but trust me that won't happen. Since we will be in a calorie deficit in this program it will be very hard to build a lot of muscle while losing fat at the same time. Also, women just don't produce the amount of testosterone that men do. For the majority of women getting "big" means eating a calorie surplus and heavy lifting..even with that it is still very hard for most women so you shouldn't have to worry on this plan. Heavy lifting is essential for fat loss and in the end we should end up leaner & more fit than ever before. Let's do this!
Oh - one other question Nordic Nightmare - do we create our journals in here on 1/1?
Nordic Nightmare
12-20-2006, 02:55 PM
fit_jilly~Awesome news! There will be about four more women in this challenge.
The journal question..hmm I would create a personal one. I think I'll try to keep these posts as condensed as possible. It'll be like our base camp. I would go ahead and post your accomplishments though. We will need the support of each other. -Greg

"I think there is a marketing trend that is derogatory to women because it implies they don't have the power, drive, or ability men do (Which is simply not true) so there are foods marketed "for women" just because they are smaller calories and gyms marketed "for women" that advertise special workouts, etc.
The fact is that women can benefit from the same training as men. Their hormones do make their response different, but for a large part it seems nutrition is more of a factor that differs than training." <u>Jeremy Likness</u>
It seems that I too have fallen for this false difference in training.
Nordic Nightmare, count me in.

hey Tsquare,
majority of the team is women so this should be really interesting. Seeing all the different body types and results.
I am going to do my before pics and measurements on the 30th and will post them then.
hey guys i have a question. after 7 or 8 weeks on this diet, do you guys take a week off and increase your calorie intake for this week to reset your metabolism since your body may catch up to this pattern of eating?
Lou2006
12-30-2006, 06:54 PM
Week 7 you pick the highest calorie day you had in week 6 and you eat that every day. it is a training rest also.

I'm starting to get some annoying headaches, and I seem to get them every time I cut. I don't think it has anything to do with caffeine--I suspect it is some type of carb withdrawl (it normally goes away after a week or so, but it makes it hard to focus at work and in the gym). Is anyone else getting headaches?

Hi Njari,
so did you get started on Monday? How are the workouts for you?
I am so sore right now, i am glad it is abs and cardio today. Might have to try and swing a massage tonight too.
I don't get carb headaches, I just get them from low calorie days.

Yep, talked to my sister today and she is doing "The Biggest Loser" diet and she complains of a headache too. Personally I think it is sugar withdrawal for me, especially with the chocolate craving I'm having. There are a bunch of individual puddings in the fridge, and boy I sure do want one.

Tsquare,
if you mixed chocolate protein powder in cottage cheese with splenda would that be like the pudding?
I was using protein powder and yogurt but not sure if we can have even plain fat free or vanilla yogurt on this 13 week hardcore plan.
It was pretty good by the way and sweet.

I'm glad to see everyone kicking it into gear! My arms are uber sore this morning. I'm actually enjoying the diet. I'm a very unstructured eater and this is helping me tremendously. The night before last was tough because I broiled two New York Steaks for my family, while I ate a chicken breast. It nearly killed me.

Howdy Lou,
Yesterday (Wednesday) was my first workout (Chest/Back). I almost didn't go because of the headach, but thats what the old/fat Loren (my real name) would do. The new, soon-to be shredded Loren will work out even with a headache. And you know what--the headache went away halfway through the workout! I guess the Ibuproffen finally kicked in, or maybe the exercise had something to do with it.
(Also, I don't normally talk about myself in the third person--I'm not one of THOSE guys.)

How is it going for everybody? It's the start of workout 2. I've lost 5 pounds since Jan 1. I'm loving this workout. The diet is pretty tough in terms of getting enough calories in.
Could we get a roll call and stat report?

5 lbs in <2 weeks? Assuming its mostly fat, spectacular progress! I've lost a pound or two of fat, and no lean mass. The last two days were quite low-quality for me (extradordinary stress and poor planning). But, I'm back on track now, and I plan on taking a caliper measurement on Monday. Aside from my sloppiness over the last two days, I've been eating cleanly (but still more complex carbs than the 13 week diet really calls for). This is because I had headaches initially (they subsided), and because I was really happy with my progress, so I decided to drop the carbs once I need to be more aggressive.

I've just completed week 5. I'm loving these workouts. I've made pretty good progress so far I think. I've had a couple of diet screw-ups but only a couple. So far I've lost 7.4 pounds. My strength gains have excelled beyond my highest expectations. I've gained half of an inch on my biceps. For me that is good. I love working the forearms because I never have outside of dead lifting.
I hope what's left of the team is still working on this.
I still need to know if fit_jilly and Tsquare are still in this or they're out. Let me know by Wednesday. As you can see I have no qualms about cutting folks from the team.

I'm still here Nordic, and have lost 12lbs so far. However, I have a problem with my right shoulder and it just wont let up which is really restricting my workouts. If you want to cut me, go ahead, I'll continue doing what I can do and hope my rotator cuff heals soon.

12 pounds? Wow! you've done really well. I'm not going to cut you. Thanks for reporting in. I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder. Do you have any idea how you did that? Do what you can do, but taking care of that injury is all important. Good luck to you. Stay in touch.

Well today was my final day of Team Punishment!! I really enjoyed the workouts but could have done better with the diet. I haven't done any kind of measurements bf% etc. I did lose 12 pounds and then came up a couple. The after pic was taken fast and I had my jammies on. I'll post pics of the wheels later. Thank You to Jacob Wilson for making such an awesome workout. 3 of the other folks completed it as well. 10 people dropped out.
