Are Supplements good during a bout with the flu?

Hope this is right place for this? I just had a weeks bout with the FLU and I wondered if I should have kept supplementing during time I had the FLU? Would the supplements have helped out any, or at least have kept the body from going flat? /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

A vitamin C flush always helps, along with a huge increase in glutamine, and of course sleep and a multivitamin. I'm unsure, but I think increasing your HMB intake would help fight catabolism during that time. And even though when you're sick you don't want to eat, if you want to keep your mass you need to.

Thanks, you know from reading this and thinking on those terms, it sounds like good advice for the appetite was not there and the Vitamin C would be great although a lot of juice induced. Glutamine was new to me never thought of that one.

2-3 grams of C a day is a must. But I have discovered that the quickest way to get rid of flu is to take ear drops with a peroxide solution, inhale a salt solution (take it like a man!), and gargle with a salt and baking soda solution several times a day. If you start before it gets bad you can kill the infection within a day or two. Works for me.

Hydrogen Peroxide 3%, used commonly for dissolving ear wax. You will feel a slight bubbling effect in the ear. Haven't heard of anyone burning a hole though.

NO I used peroxide solution in my ears many times doesn't hurt anything. This one I know,,just never heard of it for FLU symtoms. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just finished with a bout with an ear infection. I used Peroxide. Healed my ear in 2 days flat!!
