A friend just recommended this stuff to me, citing increased energy and pumps i wouldn't believe. It sounded good. What's the verdict on this?

Avoid NO supplements. NO products act as hemodilators, which dangerously constrict blood vessels and place strain on your liver. Most of the so-called "studies" with finds of unprecedented vasodilation conducted on it are faulty; because oral arginine only has 70% bioavailability, and up to 50% of this can be broken down to ornithine, using powder is impractical for research. This is why arginine is usually infused directly into the blood via peripheral IV for scientific studies, and even then, an impractical dose of 30 grams of this amino acid is common. Any vasodilatory effect from them can be attributed to mere insulin secretion and/or placebo.
