Sympathomemetic's are supplements that mimick the sympathetic nervous system. For instance, increasing the amount of epinephrine or nor eph in your blood stream. This would include caffeine, ephedra, etc.
Tons of fat metabolizing supplements today contain some type of Sympathomemetic.
So I am wondering, from experience, what side effects do you guys experience from these kind of supplements?
Thanks!

Most fat burning supplements out there that i've tried give me jittery and restlessness, too. However, once I tried the RIPPED system (Methyl RIPPED and Methyl Lean), it burned fat like crazy yet I didn't get any side effects. It was amazing!
When I'm on really low amounts of sleep and my stress levels are high and I take 200mg of caffeine, I've experienced some dizziness and even heart palpitations once or twice. I don't really do it anymore as a result.
There's high blood pressure, cholesterol, and even some heart disease in my family. I stay away from smoking and things of the sort as well..
I used to take a variant of methylphenidate for concentration as perscribed by my doctor. The drug worked by increasing the number of neurotransmitters in the synapse by disallowing their release; The flood gates wouldn't open, the neurotransmitters continuously build up. I don't remember exactly which neurotransmitters it worked on.
The first week of dosage I experienced well above average concentration. I was able to do multiple tasks at a time that normally would not be poossible; Write with my right hand and type something into a computer w/ the left. I could also perform many complex tasks at work without even thinking about what I was doing, everything was automated. I also experienced severe headaches, a feeling that I had to always be occupied, and jitteriness. The medication also gave me ticks, if I wasn't doing anything I would start tapping my feet, spinning a pen in my fingers, analyzing an entire room's layout( where everything was placed, exactly ). My apetite was also severely depressed, I wouldn't feel the slightest bit hungry.
The headaches and side effects wore off after one week. However, after a few more weeks my body adapted to the drugs' effects and it did nothing for my concentration.
Consequently they took me off the medication and I haven't had any since.

Right now I am taking E/C/A in 24mg/200mg/325mg dosages. I haven't noticed any side effects other than jitteriness and mild insomnia.

As of this writing I am experiencing shortness of breath.

edit: Also, something like butterflies in my stomach, but I'm not nervous about anything.

From a personal stand point, the only such supplement I use is caffeine. The side effects I notice certainly appear to be dose dependent. They are elevated heart rate and very slight feeling of light headed-ness after an intense set.

I get irratable after taking sympathomometics like caffiene. Particularly the next day.
I also feel flat the next day in my workout, and sometimes depressed.
