Sure here's their site!
Of course they're on wilkpedia too

Yeah's its heavy, I like some hardcore when lifting! There's a lot of good Christian metal out right now. Flyleaf is pretty popular too, a lot of these bands are hitting mainstream too which is great!

This is probably their slowest, melodic song, the rest are fast. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The band said in an interview the song is about Christian persecution and symbolic of Revelation.

I'm into about every type of Christian music you can think of!
As long as its about Christ, I'm into it. Just depends on the setting. At home, I like more softer stuff, in the car, more rockier stuff, at the gym hardcore all the way.
At church modern worship.

They get a lot of airplay on MTV's headbanger's ball. It's kind of amazing how many christian videos are on that show. Seems like just about every week there's a video from a band I recognize as being christian. One time recently there were 3 if I remember right! I like tivo-ing the show because I mostly fast forward to find the christian ones.
OS, I'm glad you mentioned that this is their most melodic song, because I probably wouldn't have given them a chance if I thought that song was typical for them - I like it harder! /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'll have to check out their other songs.

I'm with you ShanMan, but I get a Christian video channel where I live so I can circumvent MTV totally! But I'm glad they're making their way in!
The rest of the albumn is heavier, its only 99 cents at mp3sugar.com

Music was ok, I've never been a big fan of "hardcore" vocals though. Non-clean vocals have to be done right, with a certain amount of finesse. The vocalists who are able to create a brutal vocal style that still makes the words understandable are definitely the best.
In any case, I'm not a huge fan of Christian metal but I do recommend older Extol, particularly their album "Undeceived."
Check their site at My.space (http://www.my,space.com/extol (no comma))- I'm not sure if it's really them but in any case, check the song "Ember." Good stuff.

I've got all their stuff! Thanks Xeno!
Well I must be old, I like more raw stuff. But like I said this is also the slowest song on the albumn, so I guess it depends on your taste. A lot of the this current clean sounding Numetal sounds too "studio" for me.
Of course, non-Christian music isn't an option for me. I only like to put positive influences into my mind. But I used to listen to a lot of secular metal, and from a musical standpoint, I don't think they're much better.
Power cords and distorted blue scales are the same no matter what lyrics you're putting over them in my opinon. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
But I'm old. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif So I probably don't know a lot of the bands you do.
I remember when Motorhead and Celtic Frost first came out, we were all floored, and didn't know it was possible to play that fast! /forum/images/graemlins/ooo.gif By today's standards, they're in first gear. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Alot of people think these guys are hardcore and have nothing to do with christian music only because they dont know the lyrics, and that all he does is scream them out....but it's awsome to see what christian music went through...you had your P.O.D and Creed, now you have your As I lay Dying.

Thanks for the video! Good song for bench day! /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hey Tom, I heard that Emery recently had their music stolen right out of the studio! Its not even released yet and its all over the net!
I don't think Christians should file share like that, its basically stealing. It doesn't make sense to steal Christian music to me.
What do you guys think?

I've heard the same about Emery. Underoath recently had their cd stolen too but it wasn't finished and a few parts were missing out of the songs that sounded done. It's happening a lot more now.
I don't think its fair to steal any music. By downloading music you're denying the bands the right to what they deserve. Plus if enough music gets stolen, they can't make another cd = you never hear them again.
Awesome

I could understand it before the .99 cent programs like iTunes' music store came out. Who's willing to pay $13.99+ for an entire CD when all you want is one song because the band is hardly any good. I feel too many bands (it's getting better now) realized they just have to release one good song, in order to be popular. Who cares if the public likes the rest of the songs on the CD? ...but now with filesharing, their attitudes are forced to change.

Yeah I wasn't talking about downloads you pay for like iTunes, but just free file sharing, ie illegal downloads.
I agree its nice just to buy the songs you like.
I've found though that a lot of times the song on the radio is good because we hear it over and over again, and it grows on you.
Then you plug the CD in and the rest of the albumn doesn't sound as good.
I find that by playing it a few times the rest of the CD is pretty good.
Sometimes though I agree with you that the only good song is the one they're playing on the radio.
Awesome

Oh, yeah I understood you meant free filesharing. My point was just that it was understandable that people would want to do the free file sharing since quite often albums only have one/two good songs on them.
My other point was that that doesn't really apply anymore because you CAN buy just the one or two songs off of iTunes for 99 cents, you don't waste $12 extra on a bunch of songs you're never going to listen to. So there really isn't much of an excuse for illegally downloading songs. (That's assuming your initial reason was because you didn't want the entire CD, just one/two songs.)

In my opinion, a band that is only able to produce one good song among ten other flunkers isn't really worth listening to all that much. I much prefer listening to great albums rather than great songs, so purchasing all my music is rarely ever a problem. So case in point, just find bands that have music that is worth listening to through and through /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I spent the weekend getting some kick's out of a similar thread posting Google Videos. Here is one of the funnier one's I found from Reno 911: Boots of Escaping (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4254869577145802341&q=gerbil+love& pl=true)

I find this usually applies to really heavy music like As I Lay Dying, Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, Zao, etc. Rarely do I preview an album before buying and fall totally in love with the music. More commonly I am somewhat unsure about my purchase and only after listening to it over the course of a week do I really start liking it. I think it probably has to do with how complex the music is - there is so much going on (which is why people think of it as "noise") that it takes a number of listens to wrap your mind around it and be able to make sense of it all.
