I recently bought a multivitamin containing 50 mg of niacin. It gave me a red flush in my face and an itching feeling. Curious, I looked up this niacin and found that it dilates your veins and the flushing of the face is caused by toxins being released from the body. So, I decided to try a higher dose of this supplement, 500 mg tablets.
Will this supplement do anything for me bodybuilding-wise? There is alot of hype surrounding NO2 supplementation, but it doesnt work like its suppose to and the whole idea behind it is to dilate the blood vessels. Obviosly, niacin is dilating them as I can see for myself but NO2 does f all.
I have also noticed little tiny red veins pop up in my triceps.
Can anyone can shed some light on this supplement for bodybuiding? Im gonna try this bottle of niacin and see what happens.

Dgen,

That is not good at all. /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Yes, that is a common side effect of too much niacin. You need to lower your dosage. Read my article on Vitamin B-complex in the nutrition section.

Seems as though the niacin flush reaction is different for some. My brother had this flush from a multi vitamin but when I took the same dosage of the same brand, I had no reaction what so ever.
