Hi All,

Up until this point in my life I haven't really been dedicating much of my time to the Lord. I was raised as a Catholic and was schooled as such; however, I always dreaded religion class and hated going to mass. I dont think many young children actually understand or appreciate this at such a young age...I know I didn't.

My question is this...
I would really like to start reading the Bible and was wondering if you would recommend just starting right from page 1 or elsewhere?
This may be a silly question but I think I'll run the risk of ridicule.

Thank you all in advance,
D

It is NOT a silly question.

Welcome to an adventure of a lifetime !!!

Many people recommend starting from the Gospel of St John.

I for myself like the Gospel of Luke, since he was a doctor and it is told in a very logical fashion.

Then I would go to Genesis.

Then the book of Proverbs for impartation of wisdom.

Yes, start with the gospels and you might also listen to some good sermons on MP3. I can recommend you some good sites if you're interested in sermons.

Its not silly at all bro.

Thanks for sharing your new found faith with us.

There are a lot of different ways you can go about this.

I agree with Psaturn as where to start.

There are a ton of good books that can help you too.

I like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0849907985/thomasnelsoni-20/104-7272005-1315938

You can get it used for like 10 dollars.

Here are some sites that can give you plans for reading the bible:

http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/

Hope that helps.

Also if you get confused or just need something cleared up, you can ask here or PM me anytime.

Adam.
