Thoughts on watching porn with your wife or husband?

I realize that porn can ruin marriages (under some circumstances), degrates women and is considered a sin since it promotes desires of the flesh rather than spirit.

What would be the "Christian" response to a married Christian couple who enjoys watching porn together every now and again to add variety to a loving relationship?

to me the response would be the first part of your post. it does promote desires of the flesh. Bottom line, that is temptation for men. It opens a door for additional temptation and lust for a man, for this is a struggle for all men. There are other ways to add variety to a loving relationship that are mcuh less likely to lead to any problems in the marriage. My wife created a few sex games for us, this add plenty of variety, yet it is still just the two of us.

I would compare porn, to allowing more people into the bedroom.

If you lust after the women on the screen, you have allready commited adultery in your heart.

Even if you watch porn with the purest of heart (which I highly doubt is the case) you are still perpetuating the industry. Without support, there would be no reason for it to exist. Same goes for illegal drugs. If people would stop using them, there would be no reason for them to exist.

It goes so much deeper than just what happens in the confines of your own bedroom.... the people that produce the films, the actors and actresses, the extended families that are involved, and not to mention the families of the people who are addicted to watching it. Sexual lust is one of Satan's favorites! There is absolutely no good that can genuinely come from it.

There is no such thing.

A true Christian would not practice such things, period. That's like saying Jesus smoked an occaisional joint or participated in watching other couples have sex. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif I would pray over it and get some help. You cannot make an excuse for sin, no matter how it's labeled. Sin is sin and both of you are participating my friend. Get rid of that filth now and leave it behind you. A solid relationship does not require those types of things to remain healthy. You both need to discover what brought you together in the first place and practice that again!

Prostitution is clearly immoral and repulsive in God's eyes.

To endorse this industry at all is a sin.
