Soooo, what are we all gonna do with our new perfect bodies once we are all together?? I don't think we'll need dumbells anymore!
I just wonder we He has in store for us? Do you think the things we do here on Earth will somehow relate to enternity? I mean, our experiences here are all different and I really think we do things and have "desires" for things for a reason. Maybe God will need Bigger, Stronger Angels to put into battle? Maybe he will use us to be on the front lines! Yea, the souls who know pain and endurance. The souls who don't mind hard work and persistence. Or is everyone going to be the same size, shape, strength? I really doubt it.
Anyone?

Well Paul said we will be known even as we are known.
So I do believe that the passions in our hearts will still exist.
Now it is clear we will have roles in heaven:
1. To rule and reign with Christ.
The New Jerusalem will be where God's Throne is, we will rule the nations from there with Christ.
2. To serve God.
This will be the best part. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I don't think we'll need to lift weights, but we won't need to eat as well. Yet we see Christ eating with His disciples in His Resurrected body...the reason? Food is enjoyable.
So I don't think our bodies will need to be worked out, but I also believe that we will be able too, just because we find it enjoyable.
We see Adam was to keep the garden. This was work, however, he did not toil as we do now, or have the curse to deal with.
He would simply drink from the water of life and eat from the tree of life and would be replenished.

They certainly will! Christ will take all of our works and judge them. Those works that were done with a pure heart will be comparable to gold, silver, and rubies. Those done in vain will be burned up like stubble.

We'll we don't get any indication we'll ever have to fight.
At ARmageddon, Christ smites God's enemies with a word from His mouth.
During the millenial revolt, God destroy's His enemies with fire from heaven.
After the millenial reign Isaiah's prophecy of the end of war is fulfilled, so there will be no fighting after that.

No, we'll be known as we are known now.
No one knows totally. There won't be any jealousy, lack, want, or greed however, so it really won't matter. No competition, or envy, so size, etc will not matter.

"And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." (Revelation 19:11-15 KJV)
Im going to beg a plead to be a part of this army!!!!

Old School,
I just came back from the Road to Jerusalem Conference in Van Nuys at the Church on the Way. It was quite a conference with Jewish rabbis and prominent Christian leaders and theologians. We had Dr Jack Hayford, Dr Raleigh Washington (formerly of Promise Keepers), a theologian whose name escapes me at this moment from Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, Illinois and others.
The last speaker who spoke was Mike Bickle of IHOP (International House of Prayer in Kansas City). His message was called the Battle for Jerusalem and he delineated an eschatology that I never heard from anyone put it together clearly and is using the Book of Revelations literally.
I was quite shocked and stunned hearing him as I never heard anyone put together such a clear outline of the last days scenario quite so well and whole.
Scriptures and historical Christianity speaks of RESURRECTION of the bodies. Why would the bodies need to be resurrected at the end of the days if we are supposed to be in Heaven (a spiritual area ?)
Main reason is we are back to the Earth, to reign with Christ in spheres of influences that He gives us and assigns us.
There is more to what he said and I have to look at notes.
Talking about paradigm shift !!!
I am still recovering from the shock of hearing him.

what do you mean no weights in the heaven. It will be all weight. For the glory of God will be the light. Have you ever studied the meaning of the word glory? it means weight.
But of course, not in the sense of plates and dunbbells.

Shtanga,
You are right. Glory means weight, weighty. The Glory of God is weighty. Heavy.
War,
When I get time and read my notes, will pass it on to you what I heard. It includes what would happen to Israel, Jerusalem, the world, the Church...
