Hope you guys done mind every time I see something I dont get, Me asking about it here...

genesis 32:22

"22 During the night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female slaves, and his 11 sons, and crossed the ford of Jabbok."
0_o first off he has 2 wives, Ive always thought god was against that, If a man can have multiple wives can a wife have multiple husbands? then whats the point of mariage after that...
he has slaves...
and the ford of jabcok, I cant complrehend what that means...

polygamy was not authorized by God. His intension was for. One man one Wife. Polygamy was a social trait of these peoples and just as the Jews did not adhear to alot of God's laws.

But just because some one sins God does not strike them down right there. Later in the new New testament it is reinterated that marriage is between one man one woman 1 Timothy 3:2 & 12 and Titus 3:12.

as far as slaves... same thing aplies. It was a social condition. Not Gods.

also the ford of Jabbok. A ford is a river. the river is called Jabbok.

Im sure you have heard this allot. but try to study as much of the old testament as you can. and then the new testament. or vice a versa. Because with more knowledge of the entire book most of your questions will be answerd.
