Well I finally pulled the trigger after lurking for a few years, and decided to register. The knowledge here is mind boggling and I know I have barely scratched the surface when it come to the wealth of info on this site. I look forward to spending some time here reading and learning how to beat my muscles into submission.
A little about me, i'm 26 years old and have decided to get back into lifting weights. I used to lift in high school and had a really nice physiq but got lazy after getting my drivers licence and started partying, smoking and drinking too much. Fast forward 10 years, I sit at a deskjob all day and all my muscle has long since turned into "molson muscle".
I've slowly been tranforming my life, quit smoking about 5 years ago when I finished college in the city where I walked every where. Then I moved home to start working and put on 40 lbs. just from lack of exercise and over eating momma's home cooked meals.
About 3 years ago I started doing push ups and running, but had trouble forming a routine and would soon realize that 6 weeks would fly by with out a single work out. I've decided to change all this and have a little more motivation this time and have put together a workout schedule that I think I can stick with.
Other things I have done is cut out the junk food. No pop, candy, chocolate, chips, greasy food, etc. Rarely even drink coffee anymore, just straight tea. And you know what, I don't even miss them all. Its like quiting smoking, after a while a you cannot believe you used to do it.
If you've read this far and are not bored to death, thank you. Though its more important for me to write this all down than for anyone else to read it. It's all about changes I am trying to make. Taking forever for me to type this since I absolutely killed my biceps and forearms earlier.
Cheers, Chris
Wed July 13 / 05, I've been working out almost every night, some work outs better than others. I'm still getting used to the feel of certain exercises like squats and dead lifts. The squats are coming along, all I really need to do is get the weight up, I can barely stand after only 2 sets of a certain weight (under 100 lbs.). I'm loving it and can't wait to really build some strength for these exercises.
